Hyung Sam Park is involved in research on four different topics including (a) collective behavior: individuals, organizations, and networks, (b) network dynamics: structure, agency, and culture, (c) knowledge and social ties, and (d) managing waste management: policies, health, and communities. He has been presenting papers at the annual meetings of the American Sociological Association, the Society for the Study of Social Problems, and the International Network for Social Network Analysis for the past several years. Several papers developed from his dissertation research, "A Longitudinal Statistical Network Analysis of the Environmental Alliances and Litigation in the United States, 1970-2001," are under review at major journals including Social Problems, Social Forces, Social Science Research, and Connections. A paper on the Korean environmental movement has been revised and resubmitted to Mobilization: An International Journal.
