David R. Dickens is an internationally recognized scholar on postmodernism and critical theory. His book, Postmodernism and Social Inquiry (with Andrea Fontana) has been translated into Korean and Chinese. He is presently working on a project, with Professor Heiko Schmidt of the University of Heidelberg in Germany, that compares Las Vegas with Dubai as "economies of fascination." He is also finishing a manuscript on the logic of postmodern theory in sociology.
