Fall Semester Welcome!

The Department of Sociology is excited to begin the 2011-2012 Academic Year. The semester has started off wonderfully and we are very excited that all of our sociology courses have been fully enrolled. Faculty, graduate students, and staff have recovered from hosting the summer Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association. The event brought over 5,000 sociologists from around the world to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Many thanks to all those who assisted during the 5-day conference!! We have many events planned this semester and hope to see as many people as possible in attendance. We will be hosting a series of Sociochats for students to attend and learn a bit more about the sociological research taking place in our department. Welcome back to UNLV and we look forward to a great semester!
