Barbara Emily Knudson Chair in Family Policy
The
Department of Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) in the College of
health and Human Sciences at Oregon
State University invites applications for a 9-month position as the Barbara
Emily Knudson Chair in Family Policy and Professor of HDFS with an
anticipated start date of September 15, 2005. The endowment is projected to
support 90% of a 9-month FTE to allow for greater flexibility in salary
range.
Responsibilities:
Secure external funds to conduct family policy research in HDFS; facilitate,
support, and provide leadership for family policy-related activities (e.g.,
research, travel, development of materials) for faculty and graduate
students; enhance the Department’s curricular offerings and OSU Extension
programs in family policy; advise students; participate in service to the
Department and policy-related service to the profession; and engage with
policy makers and agencies.
Qualifications:
PhD in HDFS or a related field; eligible for appointment at full professor
rank with indefinite tenure; distinguished program of research; record of
success in securing external funds; evidence of effective teaching; history
of policy-related service to the profession; evidence of effective
leadership; and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
Preferred
qualifications
include a demonstrable
commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
