TENURE-TRACK
POSITIONS FOR APPLIED SOCIOLOGISTS
Positions at University of the Pacific
The Department of Sociology of the College of
the Pacific (arts and sciences), University of the Pacific, invites
applications for two tenure-track positions in sociology beginning August
2005.
The successful candidates will have a
research record and teaching experience in either: (1) social theory and/or
social and cultural change or (2) social services and/or health. One or both
of the incumbents will have interest and expertise in race and ethnicity and
be willing to participate in the University Ethnic Studies Program. The
research programs of both individuals should contribute to the mission of
the Jacoby Center for Public Service and Civic Leadership, which includes
engaging undergraduates in research with a focus on social and public policy
areas.
As with other faculty in the College, both
incumbents will be expected to teach in the University General Education and
Mentor Seminar Series programs. Departmental, College and University service
is expected. Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Sociology.
